BioWare has released the official trailer for the fourth part of the beloved Dragon Age series. Instead of satisfied shouts and applause, the masses greeted them with silence and disbelief. From the best game of its genre, Dragon Age: Origin, made back in 2009, we have come to the disastrous trailer for the next in the series of the beloved franchise Dragon Age: Veilguard.

Dragon Age is a role-playing game set in the magical world of Theadas. In the first part, the protagonist is an unknown person chosen at random, who during the game makes many difficult decisions on which the future of the entire continent depends. In the second part, the protagonist is a predetermined character Hawk who starts a revolution and takes the side of the templars or mages. In the third part of the game, the new protagonist is again chosen by sheer luck or by Andrasta's prophecy, the Inquisitor finds the "main" villain Coryphius and enters into the final showdown with him. Only after that we learn that all along our companion Solas was the main culprit for the world as it exists. He is the one who tricked the Gods and trapped them behind the "curtain". Now he is trying to free them. He seeks to lift the curtain and return the world to the old way. In the latest work, we are the only ones who can stop him. Because lifting the curtain means connecting reality and dream. It's the end of the world as we know it. The announcement for the next part of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf was already in 2018, when a very interesting teaser trailer was released that hyped us all up. Since then, several changes have taken place in the setup of the BioWare team itself. Over 800 people were dismissed. And the result is Dragon Age: Veilguard...or Failguard.

Despite the well-developed lore that could be upgraded in several ways, what BioWare revealed in its Dragon Age: Veilguard trailer is disappointing. Instead of the dark Theadas, who is on the verge of disintegration, we got a group of smiling adventurers who are planning to go on an adventure together... or a picnic... it's impossible to break out of the trailer. The graphics are childish and frivolous, the ambiance has become cheerfully adventurous instead of dark tragic Gothic; as if it is a completely different game.

All in all, a big disappointment, as evidenced by the number of dislikes compared to the number of likes on the official BioWare channel that posted the trailer. See:

The number of likes on the trailer is slightly less than 30 thousand, while the number of dislikes exceeded 150 thousand.
