The first day of the stress test passed and lasted more than the promised 3 hours. The game is truly outstanding. The music in the game itself is unsurpassed to this day, and with the new weather effects the atmosphere is only improved. Of course, it is only a stress test server, and it is impossible to play outside the time frame.
Unexpectedly, the Gods of the Atlantis pantheon could be found in the game. This was some kind of surprise by the organizers of the test or some compromise due to the lack of the pantheon of ancient Egypt. The graphics have been significantly improved, although for real-time strategy this is not so important. The visibility of the game is significantly reduced compared to the original version, and adapting to the new user interface is the most difficult part of the game.
There are several ways to have fun within the game. Of course, each of them involves other players. One of the main ones is creating your own lobbies where you would invite your friends to play against each other. The second is the search for a quick match (although the search takes a little longer than expected). And there is, of course, the ranked game. This is where the match is by far the most effective. Maximum 4 minutes. Be careful, because much more capable opponents are waiting for you at the start. After losing a couple of games, you will face much easier opponents.
The statement of a developer from the team after the first day reads: "There were many reports of already existing bugs, of which pathing caused by far the biggest problems. However, the servers proved to be stable."
A member of our team with beta access has played a few games with the Nordic Pantheon. If you are interested, you can find out more in the following video:
On the second day of the stress test in the Age of Mythology: Retold beta version of the game, there were significantly more broken servers. It happened several times that players were completely kicked out of the game without the possibility of returning. This is a sign that the response on the second day was much higher, but also that the development team needs to improve the servers. We hope they will succeed in this. The deadline is quite short, just over a month.
Apart from that, everything went like the first time. Vladimir from our team played several games without major problems. This time he focused on the Greek pantheon. If you are interested, watch the following video:
The final result of the testing is that the servers need improvement, but also that there is a huge number of interested parties. We will see what the final version will look like, which will be released at the beginning of September. By then, the servers should be fully stable, and other minor problems should be resolved.
