The game is set in a futuristic world where "Rosetta", the company in charge of the evolution of the human race, went too far and caused the so-called "Starfall". This completely devastated the world and brought the human race to the brink of life. This incident created massive amounts of stardust that had a mutational effect on the world as we know it. People are turned into brainless walking shells, animals into aggressive abominations, and plants mutate in unprecedented ways.
The game is in third person and it is an open world. So you have the freedom to go wherever you want, but you must be prepared for the consequences of wandering in a zone far beyond your level.
This game has always had an impressive worldview and survival in it, but with the latest update "The Way of Winter" that was released on October 17th, the atmosphere is enhanced with a new scenario, a huge new region, dynamic weather, a new miracle and a temperature system. . Oh yes, if you thought you were safe in your home or base, you are wrong. If you spend too much time next to the furnace for melting metal or decide to stay outside the door at night and in stormy weather, your character will experience a breakdown. Temperature is influenced by: region, time of day and terrain. In order to effectively fight the temperature, it is necessary to use special equipment that can be made on the workbench of the third stage.
Thanks to the aforementioned mechanics of temperature and dynamic time, the game looks new again. It significantly changes the way you treat your character, but also the safe zone. This is especially important in the new region called Arkham. It is a mountainous region covered with snow where you have the opportunity to find a frozen ocean, ride a cable car to the southern mountains and visit a colorful abandoned town in the center of which there is an amusement park built with the aim of diverting your mind from the desperate situation in the tundra. The region consists of 3 smaller zones:
- Vena Fjord – a zone in the center of the ice region filled with hidden, windy coasts, undulating plateaus and a zone that is home to the highest peak in the world.
- Onyx Tundra - the zone in the eastern part of the region where the previously mentioned city is located, in the center of which is an amusement park.
- East Arkham – this zone contains the most dangerous mountain of all – Vatreno Grlo. This crimson volcano is constantly active and surrounded by glowing lava, sulphurous yellow haze and a continuous cloud of thick gray ash.
In this region, players must find a small faction of survivors known as the "Column". With their help, you must overcome extreme temperatures and uncover the secrets of the surrounding mountain ranges. At the same time, Igna, the leader of the enemy Vulture faction, plans to cover the whole world with snow. It's up to you not to let that happen.
If you manage to solve the mystery of the constant storms in this mountainous region and unmask the enemy faction, the problem of extreme temperatures that seek to end the planet for all time still remains. At that moment, the second phase of the story is activated and the newest wonder of the world opens - the Thermal Tower. These mega structures have the ability to alter the environment and protect the planet from extreme weather anomalies.
Of course, in addition to the main story and dungeons, this update also comes with 60 new puzzles and 30 viewpoints with breathtaking views. This world has always had incredible landscapes and enchanting nature despite the dark situation. Of course, if you find all the puzzles and viewpoints, you will receive a special prize. Note that exploring the world is now more difficult than ever due to the new dynamic weather system. During the exploration of Arkham and the completion of missions, you will eventually come across huge machines called "Weavers of Chaos". These machines create incredibly powerful blizzards, but also volcanic eruptions that make your stay in the region miserable. During the season, storms become more and more intense, and the priority is to deal with them as quickly as possible.
As always, with a new region comes a multitude of new enemies, Securing Silos, challenges, and Deviations. New deviations are not revealed, so players have to find them independently. Of course, a plate of various weapons, modifications, clothes and schematics is also arriving.
All in all, a huge amount of new content that will keep every game fan occupied for at least 30 hours. It is an ideal time for players who have already played the game to the "end" to come back to experience something new. I also believe that this is an opportunity for new players to join the futuristic world of Vans Human and experience its beauty in full.
