This was another very full season of the second season. We got 2 new heroes, crowned a new world champion – Team Liquid, all heroes have been completely changed with new inate abilities as well as selectable facets. In addition to all that, we had the opportunity to enjoy a narrative epic about talking birds in four acts that lasted for months.
Now, at the end of the year, it's time for the long-awaited frostivus event. Frostivus will last until January 15, 2025.
Note that it is Crownfall store filled with big discounts until January 3, 2025 and yes with use Crownfall coins you can get by very cheaply.
The True Purpose of Frostivus (Hats)
"What gifts?" one might festively wonder. Well, for starters: until the end of the season, your hero will start every game wearing a stylish Frostivus hat.
But don't think of it as a fashion statement. Think of it as a trophy case. Because you can steal hats from enemy heroes and get them as gifts from your allies by using a new one "Spirit of Frostivus" abilities. You can also get them the old-fashioned way (murder/steal), by stealing them from the skulls of heroes you've just killed, from Tormentors, or if you really know what you're doing, even from Roshan's craggy dead head.
Any hat you pick up, you can wear on top of all the others in a glorious, murderous pile of glory. Plus, since the MVP screen at the end of the game now includes hat tallies, you'll have definitive proof of your hat superiority for days to come.
The story of Frostivus

So now you have a tower of frostivus hats on your head. But can you truly enjoy them without knowing their exhaustive background? The answer is yes. "It's just colored hats," you say. "Who cares where they came from?"
Six months ago, the Dota 2 lore team wrote a 600,000-word legendarium about it called “Hatmarillion". But everyone refused to read it, so they wrote a children's version Hatmarillion of ten pages which takes about a minute to read, and it seems that everyone liked it better. Start Dota and enjoy the story!
Frostivus Forge

But wait! There's even more Frostivus spirit in the air! Unfortunately, it is broken down into its chemical components and needs to be reconstituted into a seasonal compound. The Dota 2 team has collected a bunch of supplies that you'll need to craft rewards in the new Frostivus forge. Next step? Use of the forge itself.
All you have to do is complete as many mini-missions as possible within the game such as:
- Hit the enemy with a snowball before you kill them
- Steal the hat
- Throw a bone at the enemy
- build a snow white before first blood is spilled
Completing these mini-missions will earn you unique supplies that will fill your forge and allow you to craft rewards. Each item requires a different crafting recipe, and you can unlock higher tiers by first crafting all the lower tier rewards. Rewards include Seasonal Voicemails, a new bell-shaped Tormentor that lets you play music, a drunken wizard riding a suspicious donkey-shaped reindeer courier, and many more.
Storage of Heroes – Winter 2024

Hero Hoard is the latest prize chest filled with 17 different sets for your favorite heroes. But that's not all, the coffins are filled and Immortal items, taunts and everyone's favorite pet, the ice wolf. The arcana for the Windranger hero has been redesigned and can now be used in combination with her latest set. This is part Crownfall stores, so you can use your own Crownfall coins for shopping.
A wave of bans at the end of the year

King Kringle broke his ban hammer last year by banning a huge amount of smurfs, cheaters and toxic players. He's spent the entire season tinkering with it and testing it on various villains in the Dota 2 community, and now he's ready to use it against the worst of the worst.
This holiday season, we hope you'll look forward to cleaner, friendlier and fairer games, without the 65.594 smurf profiles that took action this week.
In addition to smurfs, MMR traders, gripers, bug abusers, cheaters and toxic players who undermine the competitive spirit that is at the heart of every Dota game are also banned.
Here's what's valuable anti-cheat Dota 2 the team has a message for the rest of its community:
"As always, we want to thank everyone who submitted a report during the year. All of this data helps us find players who are making Dota games worse and take action. Dota is a better game because of you.”
