Dragon Age EA RPG

"How is a trailer from 2009 better than a trailer from 2024?" – is the question that fans around the world are asking themselves. It is unthinkable that a dark and very complicated world becomes a fancy adventure in which there is no risk of failure. BioWare released its first Dragon Age game (Dragon Age Origin), its masterpiece, back in 2009, and to this day the game stands at the top of its genre, unsurpassed even by its sequels. Dragon Age 2 had top-notch characters like the first part, but it faltered with a desperate choice of dialogue as well as linear gameplay that was not "open world". It consisted of several zones and many loading screens that detracted from the whole experience. Dragon Age Inquisition or the 3rd part of this series corrected its mistakes from the second part and made the game an open world and the characters equally interesting. The dialogue was improved, but still far from the dialogue from the first part. (Small spoiler - no game to date has the quality of dialogue on the level of Dragon Age Origin)

A few days ago, the trailer for the latest part of this incredible story finally arrived: Dragon Age: Veilguard, which the BioWare studio team has been working on for 10 years. The difference between the "Dreadwolf" and "Veilguard" titles is immediately visible. Why did they change the title? Perhaps the hundreds of layoffs they shared during the previous 4 years since the arrival of the corona virus had a lot of impact. Either way, what we got is far from what we've been eagerly awaiting for years. The quality of this trailer is at the level of a game for ten year olds. There is no blood, the demons within the game are completely unrecognizable. Many of them have been reduced to some kind of purple aliens, as if from a cartoon. There is no recognizable uniqueness from previous parts of this game. I didn't want to comment in detail before looking at the gameplay of the game itself, but after the premiere of the gameplay itself, I realized that the game repeated old mistakes. Once again, BioWare gave up on the open world game and reduced the freedom of the player himself with story-driven gameplay. Like the other work, the dialogue options are completely destroyed. The character doesn't even say what the player chooses. There are a maximum of 3 options, none of which are worth choosing, because as a player it's really hard to find yourself in the horrible options the game offers. I have to slow down a bit because the gameplay is from an early stage, the game is still not complete. But if the general vibe of the whole game is like the vibe I got from 20 minutes of gameplay then this game is not worth watching. If I hadn't seen the title above the gameplay, I wouldn't have guessed what game it was. She is so different.

The game will be released this fall, which is not that far away. I hope that in the next few months they will at least complete the game and improve it as much as possible. And when it comes to the quality of the BioWare studio from 15 years ago, I don't think it's there anymore.
