Balkans DOTA 2 MOBA News Broadcast of the Tournament

On April 25, 2026, Belgrade hosted the strongest Dota 2 LAN Shuffle tournament in the Balkans, organized by the largest regional Dota 2 YouTuber Dr. Mareta and playrooms Toxic Gaming Arena. 40 of the highest-rated players from the region gathered in one place, making the tournament an almost complete cross-section of the Balkan elite.

Organization and format

  • The players applied individually and paid the registration fee, which formed the basis of the prize fund.
  • The fund was additionally increased by donations from Dr Maret's YouTube livestreams.
  • The teams were formed in four different ways, and the audience voted for option number 3, which resulted in balanced teams.
  • The tournament lasted 20 hours of non-stop action, from 11:00 on Saturday to 07:00 on Sunday.

Hospitality and atmosphere

The community itself gave the event a special charm:

  • One of the spectators, Cube, he even prepared 50 kg of pie various flavors for all participants.
  • Dr. Mare provided lunch - burgers and chicken white meat with side dishes.
  • Foreign competitors were provided with accommodation, and the atmosphere was friendly and without problems, except for a short internet stoppage at the beginning due to the livestream.

Competition progress

My team number 8 had the highest overall rating, but we didn't manage to get past the group stage. We beat Viktor Vidjen's team in the first game, but then lost the next two. In the lower bracket, we were stopped by the legendary team Duška Boranijasević - Boranije, with the help of a young Zemunac.

The finale brought the ultimate suspense:

  • Mihajlo "Miksa" Jovanovic He won the tournament with his team.
  • He left the biggest impression Neven “Kounz” Cobanov, which showed an incredible level of play in a LAN environment and was my personal choice for MVP.
  • Miksa excelled with the Alchemist strategy, while their mid laner Ayao was the most stable mid laner of the tournament.

Awards and symbolism

In addition to medals and cash prizes, one of the fans, OgreBoy, he made handmade wooden Aegis of immortality.

  • Five went to the winning team.
  • One remained in the playroom, one went to Dr. Maret, and one ended up in my hands, as a memento that traveled back to Montenegro.

Conclusion

This event demonstrated the strength and potential of the Balkan Dota 2 community. Dr Mare and Toxic Gaming Arena they set the standard for future LAN tournaments, and the community proved that it can organize at a high level. I believe that this is only the first step towards the Balkans becoming a serious center of the Dota 2 scene in Southeast Europe.
