The national team of Montenegro in the Esport title "League of Legends" enters the qualifications for Esports Nations Cup 2026, one of the most important competitions for national esports selections. The first opponent of our national team will be Slovakia, and the match represents the first step towards the big goal of reaching the world stage.
Montenegro will be represented in the qualifiers by the coach's selection Milan "Lalet" Lalić, who assembled a team with a clear goal: to present Montenegro in a fighting, organized and worthy of the national jersey.

The first challenge will be a duel against Slovakia. If Montenegro manages to pass the first obstacle, the next opponent will be the winner of the match Israel – Hungary. If the positive scenario continues, in the later stage of the qualifications there is a possibility of a big regional duel against Croatia, the selection in which i Luka “Perkz” Perković, one of the biggest League of Legends names from this area and a player who has been among the most recognizable European LoL professionals for years.
However, regardless of the attractiveness of the possible regional derby, the focus of the Montenegrin national team must currently be only on the first match. Slovakia is the first obstacle, and in this qualification system there is no room for underestimating the opponent.

Montenegro will be represented by:
Mirza Taljanovic – Talja
Petar Kovačević – Pegasus
Andrija Kovačević – Nafkelah (C)

The national team captain is experienced. Andrija Kovačević – Nafkelah, a player who represents one of the key pillars of this team. His experience, calmness and understanding of the game will be of great importance for Montenegro, especially in matches where communication, discipline and making the right decisions under pressure are decisive.
This is the generation that has the opportunity to show that Montenegro, although it comes from a smaller esports scene compared to the larger countries of the region, has players who can meet the challenge of the national competition.
This is more than one match.
National team coach Milan "Lale" Lalic points out that these qualifications are not only a struggle to advance, but also a test of the maturity of Montenegrin esports.
"League of Legends is one of the most demanding esports disciplines. It is not only individual skill that wins, but communication, draft, discipline, understanding of the map, objective control and the ability to keep a cool head when the game goes in the wrong direction. Because of this, each player will have an important role, but the work of the expert part of the team will be equally important."
"For Montenegro, this is an opportunity to show that the national selection can be more than a gathered group of good solo queue players. A real national team must have structure, agreement, preparation and a common goal."
Audience support is important
The national team camp says that the support of the community is of great importance.
We invite all fans of League of Legends, esports and the domestic gaming scene to watch the performance of Montenegro and support our national team in the qualifiers.
This is a time when community support can mean a lot. Comments, shares, messages of support, following matches and spreading information help Montenegrin esports get the space it deserves.
Montenegro may not have the largest base of players in the region, but it has people who have been pushing the scene forward for years. Performances like this are exactly what the national esports system is built for.
The first step is Slovakia.
After that, if you manage to get through, new challenges come.
And if Montenegro continues to win, we may also be in for a big regional clash against Croatia.
Until then, the focus is clear: Support our boys and fight for Montenegro.
Montenegro deserves support
Such performances are not only important for the players who are in the national team. They are important for the entire domestic esports scene, for young players who want to wear the national jersey one day, for clubs, coaches, organizers and all people who believe that esports in Montenegro can grow.
That's why the call is simple: watch the matches, support the national team and let's show that Montenegro has a community that stands behind its players.
Good luck Montenegro!
