Gerald Solomon, founder of NASEF (North American Scholastic Esports Federation), held a workshop on December 1st at the Busan Esports Arena in South Korea. The event, organized in cooperation with the International Esports Federation (IESF), highlighted the transformative role scholastic esports in education and career development.

Solomon, who is also the chair of IESF's Education Committee, emphasized the global reach of NASEF's initiatives, which include over 7.000 school clubs in 71 countries and reach 250.000 students daily. He explained how esports goes beyond gaming, providing important skills such as teamwork, communication and project-based learning, likening it to a "digital laboratory" for students.

Participants explored how esports programs can build sustainable communities and serve as pathways for future careers, not only in gaming but also in technology and creative industries. Solomon encouraged attendees to think beyond competition, focusing on creating programs from elementary school to professional esports, similar to the development models of traditional sports.

The creative exercise involved designing unique characters with physical, mental and supernatural traits, showing how esports encourages creativity and personal development. Solomon emphasized the importance of community, saying, "Esports is about belonging, it's your team, your people."

This workshop, supported by the city of Busan, highlighted the global recognition of NASEF's programs by institutions such as the International Olympic Committee and global education awards, confirming the potential of esports as a powerful educational tool for students worldwide.
