The gaming community has a lot to celebrate as 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the Warcraft universe, and Blizzard has lined up a series of exciting events, updates and surprises spanning all aspects of the legendary franchise. As someone who has played all of Blizzard's games at one point, I can't hide my enthusiasm and nostalgic feeling when talking about the Warcraft franchise, which shaped my childhood and the present day for many other generations!
Whether you're a fan of Hearthstone, Warcraft Rumble, World of Warcraft, or RTS games that are actually responsible for the Warcraft universe, in short Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct brings something for every Azeroth lover.
Nostalgia is knocking on the door
For someone like me, that is. , fans of classic RTS games, Blizzard has prepared a real refresh: Patch 2.0 for Warcraft III: Reforged! This upgrade brings spectacular improvements in graphics, lighting and user interface, and allows full customization of the visual display and resolution, adapted to the power of today's computers. Players can now mix and match HD and classic resources to their liking, while additional novelties such as the option to customize shortcuts and a modernized ladder system are something everyone is eagerly awaiting. And that's not all, many other improvements await us that will bring even more enjoyment to the game!
Even more exciting is the news about completely remastered versions Warcraft I i II. Players will be able to choose between original and remastered graphics in real-time (similar to what we already have in the Reforged version) and enjoy modernized controls and user experiences, including improved tools and functionality.
Also the famous "Battle Chest" package for collectors and fans of Blizzard titles, which now allows the purchase of all three games at a reduced price for those who already own the previous titles. Which means if already e.g. already have Warcraft: III Reforged the price of the pack will be reduced by the value of the pack.
Hearthstone: Heroes of StarCraft are coming!
A real delight and one of the nice ways to connect the worlds within Blizzard and that is through Hearthstone, which is also expanding in an unexpected direction. Coming in January 2025 is a mini-set called “Heroes of StarCraft,” which includes 49 new cards themed from the StarCraft universe. Zergs, Protoss and Terrans now enter the Hearthstone tavern with powerful and nostalgic units, while the new Arena mode brings a complete refresh with dual game modes and the option to reassemble your deck after defeat which certainly opens up new combinations and ways to motivate players.
At the beginning of next year, more excitement is coming with expansions like Emerald Dream, while later in the year Un'Goro Krater returns with Elise and the legendary dinosaurs. The year will end with an epic encounter with Murozond, leader of the Endless Dragons, in a new mini-set.
Warcraft Rumble is coming to PC!
It's been exactly one year since Warcraft Rumble came to life, although not , and Blizzard decided to celebrate this anniversary in style. They certainly listened to the community, and much to their delight, Warcraft Rumble will be available to play on PC as well, with the beta premiering on December 10th. Season 10 brings another big change with the introduction of leaders that can be split between different factions, adding complexity and depth to the game's strategic approach.
To my great delight, we can say that in the near future we have a new approach to the gaming industry from the publisher, which is that instead of creating a mobile version of a PC game, we now have a PC version of a mobile game!
World of Warcraft: Two Decades of Epic Adventures
As for World of Warcraft, it's celebrating a whopping 20 years, and in honor of that milestone, players can enjoy a variety of events, including classic Timewalking events, updated Tier 2 armor sets, and even donate to the fight against duchenne muscular dystrophy through Reven Pack supporting CureDuchenne organization.
New adventures in the frame Worldsoul Sage continue with The War Within, where the content expansion comes Siren Isle, which reveals new regions, puzzles, and rewards, along with the return of Plunderstorm with an improved reward system, or you upgraded reward system.

Journey through Undermine: A New Adventure in Azeroth
Exciting content is being prepared for the year 2025, where players will explore a mysterious goblin city undermine. This zone brings factional conflicts between the four major goblin cartels (Steamwheedle, Blackwater, Bilgewater, Venture Company), and players will be able to earn customizable vehicles and participate in new challenges, such as the raid Liberation of Undermine.
A new dungeon awaits us, Operation: Floodgate, which pits players against dangerous goblin factions before disaster strikes the Ringing Deeps.
